On the Saturday before Memorial Day, a statewide
email was sent calling for PGRiders to make a 20-mile
Welcome Home escort late that same day.
I got my email in the early afternoon and staging was set for the late
afternoon.
I wasn’t there but others were.
Mom and Dad Bowman were there.
And so were a dozen others.
They gathered at the side of the river north of
Byron.
They waited.
And then,
USA SPC Jason Lawalton
arrived.
They greeted him,
and
then they took him home.
A half-hour ride got them to his home north of Forreston.
Old Glory was everywhere.
A fine warrior was safely back
home.
Thanks to Ride Captains Jerry Ludwig and Bill
Hermann.
And thanks to Sue Diehl for the photography.
