Crispy's paternal grandmother was a Clark and a descendent of William Clark of the Lewis & Clark Expedition.  William was too young to fight in the American Revolution, but his five older brothers did.  the two olders, Johnathan Clark and George Rogers Clark rose to the rank of General.
