Christopher Frost started a journal – a “blog” – two months before he died.  His last entry was made on February 28th, four days before the helicopter crash:

Thanks for the fav, I love you all. I'd like to get through these messages sometime tonight, though, so I'm going to start skipping the social norm of DA and do a mass thank you to everyone who helped boost my ego in the last 24 hours .... If you befriended me, you shall be befriended. If you'd like to talk -- comment on something or leave a note.

If I had more than an hour a day to go through this stuff I would probably be in a better position, but such is life.

Ooooohhhhh K. Well, uh, I guess I bought some advertising...

I was kind of shocked when I came home from work today and found 300 messages to answer. So for those of you who have posted already, I'll reply in a few days. Unfortunately, my job keeps me about 12-15 hours per day, 6 days a week, so I don't have much time to answer, but I'll get there.

Welcome everybody new, and all my old, loyal friends will receive 20 dollar gift certificates to the Red Lobster.

And to the people who like to post how much they hate war, Americans, Bush, etc etc etc ... That's fine. Post away. Freedom of speech rocks, but I won't argue with anyone; I'll just hide the post and move on.

I have my own political views, and I choose not to express them on this site. I'll express them in November when I get my absentee ballot from Wisconsin.

Feb 22, 2008:  Timer: 1 1/2 month left (Time (still) hasn't moved)

So normally I don't do a journal more than a few times a month, but I felt like this deserved another special one -- First of all, I'm in that comic again, just in case you missed it: [link]

Support Farva! And donate to his site! All his profits go to making Airmen's lives more enjoyable... So donate away.

Also -- Good news today as Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has extended his cease fire and agreed not to kill anymore Americans for another six months. This is good news, seeing as how his militia operates in areas I frequent.

So anyways ... I was able to get back from Balad -- eventually. It involved a lot of lost sleep, a lot of driving and a lot of walking. In few words: it sucked.

Work has really picked up lately. My staff and I are running a lot of missions all over this country and putting out a ton of good stories. But all this comes at a cost -- I can tell that I'm starting to get mentally and physically fatigued from the deployment - it's a weird feeling that I really only remember having in basic training. You can really only go in high speed for so long, but that's ok - just six weeks left.

Feb 1, 2008:  Why can't I get out of here?

So I'm sitting here, going on my third day of being in Balad, Iraq. It's not too bad - I get all the free bus trips I can handle, and it's been raining almost the whole time I've been here; hence, the delays. I need a shower, somewhere to sleep that's not a slab of cold concrete and a day off.

I went on a trip to Kirkuk - I'll be uploading some photos shortly from it - and I tried coming back this way ... It seems like my brilliant plan has ran into a snag. But it's ok - I've been able to watch the whole first season of House M.D. and write all the stories I covered in Kirkuk. I'm actually going to post one of them up here, because I think it's a great story to tell.

I think I'm almost done sulking over the Packers' loss too.

Jan 21, 2008:  I don't think there's much to say, and everyone knows why after my last journal. I'm just going to go and quietly cry to myself.

Jan 13, 2008:  Looks like today's my last day here in Qatar. I'll hopefully be sitting in my trailer in the Green Zone sometime tonight. I somehow managed to complete my checklist to get things done while I was here - many of them I hit more than once.

A special thanks goes out to NuclearDruid for winning me a 3-month subscription to DA.

Speaking of winning - The NFC Championship game is going to be at Lambeau Field this year ... Thank God. Looks like we have another good shot at getting to the Super Bowl. Who would've thought that the Packers would be this far this year? You better bet your ass I'll be up all night long watching this game next week, no matter how much coffee I have to drink the next day...

Maybe the Brewers will take a lesson on how not to choke after the All-Star Break, and we can see both our teams do well in '08.

Jan 3, 2008:  Ladies and gentlemen - Since everyone cares what I'm doing and where I'm going .. j/k .. I'll have to tell you that I'm getting ready to head out of here for between one to two weeks. I'll be going to Qatar for some much-needed and deserved rest. I probably won't be able to get much done as far as photos or coming on here, because I'll be too busy jet skiing and eating at Chili's.

This flows into my New Year's Resolutions: (Thanks for the idea Orch)

__ Drink a beer.
__ Go to a mall.
__ Eat at Chili's.
__ Sleep until noon.

I'll need resolve that is beyond reproach to complete these tasks while in Doha, but I think I can get these boxes checked if I believe in myself.

Dec 31, 2007:  I really can't think of anywhere else to post this, but here's a little tidbit about my photos since I've had some interest in them lately ...

All of the photos (unless otherwised noted) were taken while I was working under my official Air Force photographer capacity. This means that the U.S. government owns all of my photographs and the rights to them, and their take on the whole thing is for free and mass distribution of the photos. Anyone and everyone is free to use them however they would like - you don't even have to credit me. I also can't sell them for profit, but what I can do, is offer to Photoshop them to whatever specs you would like and e-mail them to you so that you could take them to a print shop.

My photos serve a greater purpose than personal recognition. They tell stories about what your U.S. military is doing for you with your tax dollars. Lately, my photographs have been about the Iraqi Security Forces. My hope is that my photographs and stories can give people a greater understanding of what we're doing here.

Dec 26:  What a busy last two days. Two big photo shoots, and the last one today was the biggest and the best. If you're watching me, I personally apologize for the mass of Deviations, but when I only get a few hours every few days to upload things, I can't really space them out.

Man... I love my job.

Dec 26, 2007:  Another 12-hour day in Iraq comes to an end. My flight tomorrow to Baghdad International Airport to cover an event was canceled at the last minute, which means I get time to finish my press release on the kids that we visited today - yay. Enjoy the pictures I uploaded, everyone.

Dec 25, 2007:  Well, well, well. My first DeviantART journal entry. I'm currently enjoying the beautiful 50 degree weather here in Iraq. I ran into Santa Claus on my way to work today, snapped some photos of leadership serving food in the chow hall, and returned to listen to music and mess around with everyone in my office. All in all - a busy day.

In addition to the journal he kept for those two months, he posted pictures.  Most he took; some were taken by others of him.  He added comments for each one.  I have re-posted about half of them along with the comments he attached to each.
