Bill Donnelly must have had roots because his name is Bill Donnelly IV. “Bill Donnelly the Fourth”.

I had a great Thanksgiving. We traveled to Ohio and shared the day with three generations of our family from six states.

I don’t know much about Bill’s family but I know they didn’t enjoy their Thanksgiving as my as I did mine.

Bill was a First Lieutenant on his first deployment. He was killed during a foot patrol on Thanksgiving Day.

Bill was part of the 3^rd Battalion of the 5^th Marine Regiment which has suffered 15 other KIAs in the last two months.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying Thanksgiving. But we all should give thanks for those who make our easy, secure lives possible.
