Over the years, most missions I have attended were conducted through the auspices of the Patriot Guard Riders in Illinois – first the PGR and then the ILPGR.  I am, however, a participating member of several other organizations with the same fundamental mission:  the celebration of America’s warriors on the occasion of their deployment, their return and sometimes their funeral.

None has meetings or dues.  They simply rendezvous when and where their membership might honor those among us who bleed red, white and blue.  They are all volunteer-run and motorcycle-themed, but none is a “motorcycle club” that demands exclusive membership.  The members simply wish to show respect and ensure dignity for America’s genuine heroes and their flag.

WWR:  the Warriors Watch Riders

Matt Charlier and many wonderful people.  Mostly “send-offs” and “welcome-homes” but I have done two KIA missions with them.

KSPG:  the Kansas Patriot Guard

Terry and Carol Houck are among the founders of the PGR so I value the patch they gave me (shown above) during a mission in Kansas where they often confront the Westboro Baptist Church.
