Fellow members of the Patriot Guard Riders in
Almost three years ago, I was asked to assume the position of State Captain.
After careful thought, consideration and consulting with a few others who were in
leadership positions and were well known and very active in the state, I agreed
to do so and was named the Interim SC for
Since
then, the membership, mission load and overall activity of the PGR in
I
have met and made friends with more great people than I can count. Friends that
I hope to continue to see on occasion, even if only at the annual gathering.
The
time has arrived for me to step away from this position, and allow someone else
the honor of serving in this capacity.
This
decision did not come lightly, nor overnight. Nor is
it based on emotions. I have considered stepping away off and on for several
months, and have discussed it off and on, in detail, with the Assistant SC's, and their assistants as well, for several months.
We have always taken the time to consider not only the mission, but also the
affect of our decisions on the entire state, not only today, but in the future,
and that has been the case with this decision also.
I am
proud, and confident, to announce to you, that
This has been approved by the National BOD.
THIS
CHANGE WILL BE EFFECTIVE AS OF MONDAY, JAN. 4, 2010.
Although I am stepping away from the SC position, I have assured Cowboy and the
rest of the staff that I will remain available to ensure a smooth and problem
free transition. I also intend to remain involved as a member.
I am confident that Cowboy will enjoy your support as I have.
Please realize that you are all elite patriots, and always consider yourselves
as diplomats.
